1、梅里古镇举行周年庆活动

Meili Ancient Town celebrates first anniversary

　　Meili Ancient Town held the first anniversary celebration for its opening from Nov 19 to 21. Various on-site activities were organized such as female dancers dressed in hanfu performing traditional Jiangnan dances, a 3D water projection show and a Wuxi Opera performance. Many expats were also drawn to the celebration for an on-site experience of the natural landscape and cultural heritage of Meili Ancient town’s ancient Wu culture. 

　　11月19日至21日，梅里古镇举行了开街一周年的庆典活动。现场活动丰富多彩，有身穿汉服的女子演绎江南舞，3D水幕投影秀和锡剧表演等。此外，梅里古镇的自然景观和深厚的人文底蕴，也吸引了众多外籍友人前来感受吴文化的魅力。

2、新吴区鸿山墓群入选“十四五”时期大遗址名单

Hongshan tomb complex listed among 14th Five-Year Plan period major historical sites

　　Hongshan tomb complex in WND was recently selected as a major historical site during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. Hongshan Site, located in Hongshan neighborhood, was the burial site during the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period (770-221BC) in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, covering 7.5 square kilometers of protected area with more than 130 large mounds.

　　The Hongshan site was rated as one of the Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2004 and was announced as the first batch of National Archaeological Site Parks by the National Cultural Heritage Administration in 2010. Hongshan National Archaeological Site Park is currently the only officially listed park of its kind in Jiangsu province.

　　近日，新吴区的鸿山墓群入选“十四五”时期大遗址。鸿山遗址位于新吴区鸿山街道，是我国长江下游地区春秋战国时期的墓葬类遗址，保护面积达7.5平方公里，已探明有大型土台、土墩130余座。鸿山遗址被评为“2004年全国十大考古新发现之一”。2010年，鸿山遗址被国家文物局公布为第一批国家考古遗址公园。鸿山国家考古遗址公园目前是江苏省唯一正式挂牌单位。

3、来自新吴的她，成为北京冬残奥火炬手

WND’s Yan Sanyuan to bear torch for Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games

　　According to news from China Disabled Persons’ Federation, Yan Sanyuan from WND has been selected as a torchbearer for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games. Yan will participate in the Olympic torch relay on behalf of Wuxi and the disabled. 

　　As a National Self-improvement Model and National Self-improvement Entrepreneurship Star, Yan became blind when she was young, and later on she decided to study tuina (blind massage) to start her own business. Over the years she has helped thousands of blind people find employment. Yan founded Wuxi’s first blind massage parlor in 2000 and now the company has 10 branches, more than 300 employees and has served hundreds of thousands of customers.

　　近日，从中国残疾人联合会传来消息，来自新吴区的严三媛当选为2022年北京冬季残疾人奥林匹克运动会火炬手，届时严三媛将代表家乡、代表残疾人群体参与奥运圣火传递。作为“全国自强模范”和“全国自强创业之星”，严三媛早年失明，学习推拿，随后艰苦创业，累计帮助上千名盲人就业。严三媛在2000年创办无锡首家盲人推拿院，如今公司已拥有10家分店，300多名员工，服务了数十万顾客。

4、外国友人“体验江苏·读懂中国”活动走进梅里

Experience Jiangsu and Understand China event for expats held in Meicun neighborhood

　　The 2021 Experience Xinwu and Understand Wuxi event, which is part of the Experience Jiangsu and Understand China event for thousands of expats in Jiangsu province, was recently held in Meicun neighborhood.

　　Nearly 60 expats from over 20 countries participated in the event and were able to watch a promotional video about Meicun neighborhood, appreciate Wuxi Opera, visit Meili Ancient Town and Wuxi NEST Biotechnology Co Ltd, and experience the artistry of erhu (a two-stringed bowed instrument). The event opened up a window of knowledge for expats and guests to learn more about WND, Wuxi and Jiangsu.

　　近日，江苏省千名外国友人“体验江苏·读懂中国”无锡分场活动暨2021年新吴区国际友人“体验新吴·了解无锡”活动在新吴区梅村街道举行。近60位来自20多个国家的国际友人参加了本次活动，他们观看了梅村街道的英文宣传片，欣赏了锡剧表演，游览了梅里古镇，参观了无锡耐思生物科技股份有限公司以及体验了二胡艺术。本次活动为各位国际友人和嘉宾进一步了解新吴、了解无锡、了解江苏打开了美丽的窗口。

5、入冬“上新”，渲染迷人新安

Xin’an neighborhood’s picturesque early winter scenery

　　The natural scenery of Xin’an neighborhood in early winter is picturesque. Swaying reeds in the Daxigang Wetland Park, red and blue trails that wind around Taihu Lake, and red maples and yellow ginkgo trees along the roadside all complement one another as if early winter was their most precious time to bond. 

　　初冬的新安街道景色如画。大溪港湿地公园里随风摇曳的芦苇，太湖边红蓝相拼的步道，路边火红的枫树和黄色的银杏树，共同描绘出一幅五彩斑斓的冬日景象。
